Wrap Skirt Class
Come join us in a fun class where we learn to remake an old suit coat into a sassy skirt, perfect for fall and winter. Suit coat material and all supplies will be provided, as will sewing machines. If you have some favorite buttons you'd like to use, please bring them! Some sewing experience helpful. Payment will secure your spot so please register early since our class is limited. Class fee is $35.

Cabinet PaintingPaint 101: Bring your cabinet doors and drawer fronts to paint [3-5] - we will be using General Finishes Paint • one quart provided. You are welcome to purchase any additional paint needed if your project is more than a quart.

Coat Rack Painting PartyPaint 101: Paint and topcoat a beautiful, functional coat & hat rack. All supplies provided. Try out some of the new Chalk Style paint or Milk Paint. Includes heavy duty hardware hooks in a matt black finish. This 3 hook rack measures 30 wide x 11 1/2 tall. Topcoat in Satin and Semi Gloss available. This workshop will include a demonstration of using General Finishes Glaze Effects. Come in paint clothes. We will provide light snacks and water. There will be a break for drying time. Bring a brown bag lunch if you would like too.

Get your door and let the creating begin!
The purpose of the contest is to raise money for Love INC Anchorage re:MADE, gain exposure [so please spread the word like us on facebook], meet new artists, and gather friends who like repurposing items as much as we do.
Entry Form must accompany each door entered [must use at least one of the doors provided can pickup a door any Thursday 1-7 pm at 12100 Coffee Shop]. Doors must be transformed. They may also be painted, combined with any other items, [multiple doors can be used in a single creation], decoupaged, beaded, brocaded, bejeweled, rearranged, etc. Keep in mind these are to raise money. All creations from doors become property of Love INC Anchorage re:MADE to be sold at our Selling Event on Saturday, March 28th from 10 am 4 pm. Artists may enter more than one door creation. Deadline for completed door creations is March 19th and will be accepted between 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm on any Thursday at 12100 Coffee & Communitas, 12100 Old Seward Hwy, until March 19th or by appointment at the Love INC office, 7801 Schoon Street, during business hours only. Community judging March 19 - 26 at 12100 Coffee Shop. Prizes awarded Saturday, March 28. All door creations must be safe for use – that is, sturdy, serviceable, and capable of hanging if needed, etc. NO WET PAINT, GLUE etc. or door creation will not be accepted. There will be prizes given. First, Second, and Third, plus Community Choice. You do not have to be present to win. Winners’ names/photos will be used in promotion and sent to the media after the event. |
